How To Wear Jewelry: Style Tips!

Always be practical when you are selecting a piece of jewelry to wear. You do not want to be uncomfortable or frustrated that your necklace that is too long is causing you to get hooked on items or that your earrings are too heavy and you are constantly moving your head. Think about the situation where you are wearing the item and do a test in your home before you go out to make sure it is right.

Pay attention if they usually wear studs or hoop earrings, white gold or yellow, and any other typical jewelry that they wear. This way, you know where you should start when buying a gift.

You should wear the jewelry for a few days to see how it feels and if it is comfortable. This also helps you to see its durability.

Don’t worry about how much your jewelry costs. What is most important is that the pieces you choose reflect your individuality. It doesn’t matter whether you paid one dollar or a thousand, if you love the piece wear it with confidence. It is also perfectly acceptable to mix high and low cost jewelry.

When it comes to jewelry, be sure that you listen for compliments from people that you respect and let that guide you as to the frequency that you wear a particular piece. This is important because there is obviously something about it that compliments your style and who better to listen to than your own peers.

Some people have a sensitivity to many metals that precludes them from wearing much metal jewelry. The miracle of modern engineering has developed some hypoallergenic metals such as surgical stainless steel or titanium that are better suited to many of them and allows them to wear chain necklaces, traditional-looking rings, and earrings.

Buying earrings that are made out of gold or silver can ensure that one will not get an ear infection or reaction from the jewelery. These metals will be better for your ears and also be better quality jewelery for one to wear. Gold or silver earrings can be a good choice.

If you want to shop for jewelry, consider selling some. Take anything you don’t wear regularly to a pawn shop or other establishment and have it looked it. Some of the pieces might actually be worth far more than you think given the prices of gold and silver. Also, having a salesperson quote prices will quickly cause emotional reactions you can use to gauge whether or not you really want to keep certain pieces. Sell the ones you are comfortable with, or trade. Keep the ones you want with increased awareness of their value, both to you and financially.

Whatever you do, never wear your jewelry when you go swimming. Whether you are swimming in the salty water of an ocean or the chlorine water of a pool, the chemicals and minerals are not good for your jewelry. Not to mention that the small grains of salt in the ocean can quickly scratch your jewelry!
